Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is looking for a Programmer/Analyst for a contract position. Contract running from date of award until March 31st, 2010. With two additional 1 year contract options.
All candidates must possess Secret clearance.
Tasks for the Programmer/Analyst may include, but will not be limited to the following:
-Acquire knowledge transferred by the Enterprise Architect from tasks in other tracks.
-As directed by the Enterprise Architect, review existing OSFI IM/IT standards documentation.
-As directed by the Enterprise Architect, support the Enterprise Architect in recommending concrete, achievable prototyping tasks, as described in the Enterprise Architect task section above.
-As directed by the Enterprise Architect, provide technical input to ensure the work tasks identified for this track are correctly integrated into the Application Portfolio Rationalization Study Project Plan with dependencies and levels of effort per skill set, as described in the Enterprise Architect task section above.
-Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to understand the track plan and deliverables, as described in the Enterprise Architect task section above.
-As directed by the Enterprise Architect, write up the requirements for the set of concrete, achievable prototyping tasks, to be designed, implemented and unit tested by the Programmer/Analyst.
-Produce documented and reviewed designs for the prototyping (and other) tasks identified in the Application Portfolio Rationalization Study Project Plan for this track.
-Implement and review source code and other work products for the reviewed and signed-off prototype designs identified in the Application Portfolio Rationalization Study Project Plan for this track.
-Unit test source code and other work products for the implemented prototype designs identified in the Application Portfolio Rationalization Study Project Plan for this track.
-Actively participate in demonstrations of implemented prototypes (and other work products), as directed by the Enterprise Architect.
-Actively participate in knowledge transfer sessions and technical hand-off of the functional prototypes (and other work products in this track) to IM/IT staff.

The ideal candidate will have::
a minimum of 5 years total of experience within the last 8 years successfully collecting, clarifying, analysing, translating and documenting business requirements as detailed functional requirements, design and programming specificationsa minimum of 2 projects within the last 5 years designing web-application solutions using Microsoft ASP.NET C# technologya minimum of 6 months of experience within the last 5 years successfully designing web-services using Microsoft .NET technologya minimumecur of 1 year of experience within the last 5 years applying Microsoft ASP/ASP.NET Sity Best Practices to secure application designs and code in an environment using Active Server Directory and Kerberosa minimum of 5 years experience within the last ten 10 years designing and implementing data models and schemasa minimum of 3 years experience within the last 10 years experience designing and implementing application solutions using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and/or SQL Server 2005 and/or SQL Server 2008 databases
